Policies
Party Locations
We are a party business that comes directly to you! Typically parties are
held in your home. If you are securing a location outside your home, please
check with us to see if the accommodations will work.
Reserving a Party
Interested in reserving a party date? You can request a party date through
email (link) or via phone (661) 257.7721. You will be notified ASAP
regarding the availability of your party theme and date. Your party date is
tentative until contract and deposit are received (see booking a party).
Booking a Party
If your date and theme are available and have been confirmed by Party
Wishes, you can download and print the contract (link) and order form
(link). The contract, order form and a $100 (one hundred) deposit is
required to book your party. We only accept checks at this time. Party
Wishes will re-confirm your party dates once your contract, order form and
deposit have been received. Parties are booked on a first come first serve
basis. Please keep in mind we do not begin preparations on your party or
order goods until we receive your paperwork and deposit. Booking your event
well in advance will allow more choices to be available for your party.
Cancellations and Refunds
If you must cancel your party for any reason, the following refund policy
applies: The $100 DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. In the event you have to
cancel, Party Wishes! will gladly make every effort to re-schedule another
party date.
Host-your-Own party
This is a great way to have a spectacular birthday event and save money.
Once your deposit and contract are received, we will email you the Party
Guidebook and Party Planning Time Table. Three - four days prior to your
party event, Party Wishes will contact you for a delivery date and time for
your party goods. We typically deliver your party goods 1 -2 days before
your party; in some instances we will need to deliver the day of the party.
It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to go over party details. Delivery is
free to your location. If you would like pick-up (after your party) this is
an additional $20 or you can return the rental items to our location at no
charge. A $300 security deposit is required for all host-your-own parties.
This $300 check is not cashed and is held until all rental items are
returned in same condition.
Party Wishes Hosted Event
Our party host(s) will arrive at your location approximately 30 minutes
prior to party time. We ask that your table(s) be cleared and ready to
decorate upon arrival. Our host(s) are responsible for set-up, running a
smooth party and clean-up. Check on your theme order form page for length of
party time.
Minimum and maximum attendance
Depending on party themes - prices are based on 8-10 guests, including the
guest of honor (check your party theme for number of guests included). If
less than 8 children attend, you will still be charged for 8 children. If
you have over the basic amount of guests attending your event, there will be
additional charge per guest specific to the theme package you have selected.
Please be aware of maximum attendees before inviting guests.
Final headcount of guests
Please call us with your final headcount 2 days before delivery
(host-your-own) or 2 days before your event (hosted), with the final
headcount. This is the amount you will be charged for - please make sure it
is accurate. For host-your-own parties, if a child does not attend your
event you are still charged. If you would like to return the favor of an
absent additional guest – we charge a 50% accounting/restocking fee.
Age Appropriate parties
If a party theme suggests a certain age group that usually includes younger
siblings. A spa girlz party does not work when a 2-3 year old little sister
wants to do everything the big girls do, this can be very disruptive to a
party. For hosted parties we try to accommodate siblings – but some parties
just don’t work with a certain age group. Please call us for suggestions on
how to include siblings at your party.
Party Duration
The length of your party depends on several factors - the party theme, the
age of the children, how many children are attending, are you making extra
crafts, do you start on time or wait 15 minutes until everyone arrives, are
you opening presents at the party and are you serving lunch/dinner? We
recommend 2 – 3 hours for host-your own parties. Call us if you would like
the time recommendations to be narrowed down for
your event.
Guidelines to having a successful party
Take into account how large your home/backyard is, possible weather
conditions (if it’s held outside), seating for all guests, etc. It is
preferable for all the guests to be able to sit around one large table to
eat cake, play a game or two and possibly make a craft. A dining room and
family room will work with most parties. If your party is held outside, make
sure your automatic sprinkler system has been turned off for the day of your
party. Even if the sprinklers go off before your party, this can mean
wet/muddy grass for your event. A stereo or boom box works well for party
music. Make sure you have film/batteries and video ready to go, to capture
precious birthday memories.
Tables and Chairs
We do not provide tables and chairs. However, we will be happy to refer you
to local vendors who provide table and chair rentals.
Food and Beverages
Party Wishes does not bring any food or drinks to your event (unless special
arrangements have been made). Remember to order a cake a week or two in
advance (don’t forget the candles).
Costumes
Some of our party themes have dress-up costumes; which are kept clean and in
excellent condition. Typically costumes work the best over a leotard (for
girls), this way it is also more comfortable for your guests. All of our
costumes for boys work well over a t-shirt and shorts/jeans. The party time
line allows for the guests to wear the costumes long enough to enjoy them.
Costumes are expensive to replace and dry clean, we ask no eating or
drinking be allowed while wearing the costumes (water is ok). Costumes also
are not allowed on grass.
Client Obligations are to:
- Provide a safe/clean area for dress-up and all activities.
- Remain with/near the party at all times.
- Provide a gathering place for parent(s) of the guests who wish to stay
- Provide a smoke-free environment
- Provide enough tables and chairs to accommodate all of your invited
guests.
- Please have tables and chairs set up and cleared before our arrival.
- Attend to a child that does not want to participate, misbehaves or
becomes ill.
